LAKE POWELL
By Noah Glasoe

Me and my family where going to lake Powell. It was summer and we were on vacation. I was really excited because I knew that it was a big lake and we could go swimming in the lake.

We were driving there. It was a long, long trip. I was just looking out the window. On the way there we saw a cross on a hill. I thought that maybe somebody died there.

When we got to the lake we saw that our cousins where there waiting for us. Then we went to get the houseboat. Our cousins helped us carry our luggage into the houseboat. I felt like I couldnÕt wait to go fishing. Our cousins also brought their motorboat. I was excited to go on it!

Then we got something for lunch. I had a hot dog. It tasted really good. I had ketchup and mustard on it.

After lunch we went to the houseboat. I saw fish in the water. I called to my sister so she could see them too. It was super-dooper fun!

One night we were fishing and I caught a fish. It was a Rainbow fish. I liked how the fish tugged on the pole. It was fun to catch fish. We strung them up on a chain and put them in the water so they would stay fresh. Then when we had enough of them, we ate them for dinner.

The next morning we were like in a dessert, but it was wet. It was so beautiful. You could see cactus on the land. We ate eggs and bacon for breakfast, and looked at the scenery.

After breakfast our cousinÕs dad went to get his motor boat at the dock. When he got back, my dad, Hannah, and I got in the motorboat. When he turned on the motor, it was super loud. My ears started to hurt.

We went really fast. It was super cool. Then I was dizzy when we got off the boat.

We ate lunch. It was super good. We had the fish that we caught. Then we parked the boat and got off. We went on a hike. It was fun too. We saw big hills and cactus.

Later we got in our bathing suit and jumped in the water and swam to a little island.

Then we swam back to the houseboat and we ate dinner. It was excellent. We had more good fish.

We went to bed. It felt good, because I was tired. I had such a busy day.

The next morning we ate breakfast, then we went and played outside on beach. That afternoon we saw a big storm coming, but my dad happily said it wasnÕt coming our way.

So my dad and all the grownup men went outside of the boat and sat on a chair on the beach. Then my dad stood up and a big gust of wind came. It blew his chair away. It was scary. I started to cry, because the storm was so loud. We all went back to the boat. I watched out the window as a purple floaty floated away.

After the storm it was time to go home. We went back to the dock and said goodbye to our cousins and left to go home. That was a great vacation that IÕll always remember.
