Hi my name is Kyle. Im in 5th grade. On the 31st of December, of the year 2000 I celebrated New Years with my friend, Spencer.
It started at 12:00 p.m., when Spencers mom picked me up. While Spencer and I were in the car we played gameboy and listened to some music.
When we arrived at Spencers house, we had to pack up to go camping. After we got all our stuff together, we played Beetle Adventure Racing. Beetle Adventure Racing is a Nintendo 64 game with Volkswagens. It was a really good racing game. We were waiting for Spencer's mom and his sister, Stephanie to finish packing. Finally, we were able leave to Chula Vista where the cabins were.
We finally arrived at the cabins at 1:00 p.m. Everybody unpacked. Spencer's mom and her friend, Bill, shared a cabin with all the girls. That cabin had two rooms. Spencer and I had our own cabin. We were excited that we didn't have to share with anybody else except each other, and it was only one room. When we got done unpacking we played with Dragon Ball Z toys.
Spencer and I went outside to explore the place. We came across four teens and an eight-year-old kid. All at once they asked, "Do you have a dollar?"
We replied, "Yes."
They asked, "Could we have it?"
We walked off and said, "No!"
It turns out that those kids were begging for dollars so that they could buy ice cream. They were asking people in the cars. One senior citizen got so mad that he honked his horn at them and yelled, "get out of the way!"
We started to head back to our cabin to watch "Malcolm in the Middle". We had the t.v. in our room, so we had to share the t.v. with Bills daughters and Spencers sister. We felt mad when the girls started to come in because we thought they were going to spend the night, but then we found out it was just to watch t.v. and we felt better.
During "Malcolm in the Middle" the girls all left except for Barbara. She was 11 years old, and the oldest daughter. So Spencer and I went outside to play catch with a football
Around 9:45 we came in to watch "The X-files". At 10:45 Spencer, Barbara, and I went outside to play football. We won because Barbara was to slow to catch us.
At 11:30, everybody came over to our cabin to watch the Billboard music awards for 2000. It was ten seconds from 2001. Then everybody started the countdown, "Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, Happy New Year!" Everybody already said their New Year's resolutions. Everybody went back to their cabins. Spencers mom gave us our own Apple cider. Barbara, Spencer, and I stayed until 2:00 in the morning to watch Las Vegas New Years. I felt so excited that evening when the New Year came.
The very next morning we headed over to Bill and Spencers mom's cabin to have breakfast. We had eggs and a bagel. At 1:00 p.m. Spencer and I went on a hike with Bill and his daughters. Spencer and I got a head start.
On the trail there was a lot of dog poop. We had to jump to prevent stepping in the dog poop. We stopped to wait for Bill and his daughters. It took about ten minutes before they showed up.
On the way back Spencer found a slingshot in great condition. I was glad to find such a treasure. We took a couple of shots. When I took my shot I was amazed that I could fire a rock so far with it.
The time was 5:30. Everybody started to pack up. Before we left Spencer and I fired some more shots. Spencer and I didn't want to leave, but we had to. So we made a wish to go back there another day.
And maybe one day we will.
