Harry Potter Cards

By Patrick Timmons

I remember my first Harry Potter cards. I got the Harry Potter starter set. I was so happy.

When I got home the first thing I did was I ran up to my room and looked at the beautiful pictures, apple reds, lemon yellows, electric blues, chocolate browns, potion greens. I was so excited I couldn't believe it. I loved them so much. I looked at them for hours, learning how to play, making strategies, playing by myself, and enjoying my new cards. Even now with over 600 cards, I sometimes I still spend hours looking at the pictures.

Some of the cards are so weird they're scary. The cards make me feel like I'm dueling Voldemort. It is so exciting when I get into a long grueling duel. It makes me so nervous when it is close to the end of the match and it’s really close. My stomach gets butterflies.

When I duel, I feel like I'm Harry Potter and I'm fighting Voldemort. If I win I feel like I'm king of the world. When it's all over I feel happy that I won. Or if I lose, I know that I learned from my opponent. At the end of the day, win or lose, I had a good time!

When I play I feel warm inside. And I feel I have no other cares in the world. I love that feeling. It makes me so emotional, happy, sad, mad and glad! I start to sweat, "Will I lose? No, I'm about to win." "Oh man, nice move. That saved you! Good game. How did you do that combo? You saved yourself and beat me at the same time!" I don't like to lose, but I still try to be a good sport.

I love the people I play. They are so nice. We laugh. We talk and we just love being there. I can't explain the bond, but we're really close.

I love this game and I hope to never give it up!
