Mel

When I went to Boston, I saw a big black dog with white on its tummy. His name was Mel. It was a Newfoundland. Mel was really big, but he was still a puppy.

A Newfoundland is a dog that saves kids from drowning. Mel's owner can’t bring him to the beach, because he'll try to save kids from drowning.

On the first day I saw Mel I was in my grandma’s kitchen. My grandma was getting the kitchen remodeled. When I first saw Mel, I really liked him. Mel is a very mellow dog. He won’t bark. Mel also would lie down outside on my grandma’s leafbush and bend it. I would go into my grandma’s "outside room" and watch Mel. What I thought was cute was when he would hold his paw up.

One time I fed Mel two ripped up hotdogs. I couldn’t break off a piece, so I gave the hotdog to Mel to bite off a piece. But he ate it whole.

Mel really made my trip to Boston fun. I hope I get to see Mel next time I go to Boston, because I just love animals. And that’s probably why I like Mel so much, because animals make me happy.
