When I lived in Washington state, I had a wonderful next door neighbor. She was a sweet 80-year-old. Her name was Evon. I called her Gramma. She liked to plant flowers.

She also was an animal lover. Evon has three cats, and one dog that died.

One of the cats was called Tesey. Tesey was a street cat. He used to wait for me to go to school in the morning as if to say, "Good morning."

After school when I came home, he would be there as if to say, "Welcome back home." He did this day after day.

Evon fed Tesey and her other two cats.

Evon would take care of me when my mom went to take a test or something. She had tunnel vision.

She knew that I like rocks. Once on my birthday she brought me a platform full of rock.

I helped Evon plant flowers and get her soil in the corner of her big backyard. She liked to talk. And I liked talking to her too.
