Time Travel

One day I was just walking down 63rd street when I bumped into something hard. I looked up and there right in front of me was a silver metal door.  That was so bizarre and it looked as though people didn’t know that it was here.

I opened the door.  I was sucked into a pink room with a green ceiling and floor.  Right in front of me was a lever that was so shiny it would blind you when you looked at it!

Below the lever was a calculator of some kind.  I pressed the "on" button and this huge voice boomed, "Welcome to the time machine.  Please put in the time you wish to visit."

So I put in a few numbers and…   "Zip- zap- pit- pat, lollie-lollie- pop."  I WAS IN THE FUTURE!

It was so amazing––everything was high tech! The thought that there were flying cars, jet scooters, and self-doing homework––and I would never live to see it in my own life outraged me.  But I found the time machine, and I did get to try it out!

Then I realized that I couldn’t stay there forever. So I went back to the time machine and punched in 2002, careful not to look at the lever. "ZIP-ZAP-PIT-PAT, LOLLIE- LOLLIE- POP.

I … … … wasn’t back home! I was on some deserted beach. I just turned around when the time machine disappeared! I was just thinking that my life could not get any weirder, when I saw some of the most beautiful dolphins I have ever seen. So I left my shoes on the beach and jumped into the water.

The water must have been at least 50 degrees f. When I got to the dolphins I forgot that I couldn’t stay forever. My lips were purple, and my teeth were chattering. My skin was so pruned…I was a prune myself! Then I … … … WOKE UP!?!?!?!?!?

While I was eating my breakfast I wondered what did my dream mean? Would the future really be that way? Is there really some tropical island that nobody knows about, and is surrounded by dolphins? While these questions buzzed around in my brain, I felt excited and curious. And to those questions, I guess I’ll never know?
