Museum School Site Council
Meeting––Wednesday, November 8th, 2006
(Rescheduled from Tuesday, November 7th – Election
Night)
The meeting was called to order at 5:45 p.m with brief
introductions.
A proposed revision of the Museum
School –School Site/Parent Council Constitution was presented and
discussed at the October 3rd, 2006 School Site Council Meeting. The new draft of the Constitution more
openly defines membership of the Council to all parents. A copy of the old and
new drafts have been available in the office since the previous meeting.
The new constitution was read by Phil to be discussed and ratified. An
amendment was made by Karen Lamphere to add at least one community member. It
shall read: Membership in the Council shall be open to all parents and
staff with one community member, up to two, with a minimum of four parent
representatives, the school principal, and 2 staff members
Lois moved to ratify the constitution
with the amendment. Karen seconded
the motion.
The motion was passed unanimously.

- Endowment
search for rent in new space - $5000 per month
Revised budget:A discussion led by Phil regarding the budget.
Special Education Encroachment has increased from $465 per child to $573 per
child. It will be approximately $8,000.00.
Endowment search: In the new building the Museum will be wanting
$5,000 per month for our rent space for the Museum School. Hopefully the annual
campaign team will be looking for the rent endowment as well as our yearly
deficit. It was discussed to have representation at the board meetings. The
concern is that we need parents and staff at the board meetings as well as
having members on the board so we have a voice.
