Dance and Gamelan

We have been learning about Balinese dance. Our "dalang" is Pak Sumandhi and his wife Ibu Putu. They are from Bali, which is on the other side of the world. In Bali, Ibu means Mrs. or Ms. and Pak means Mr.

We had an Odalan on March 24th, 2000. Here are some pictures from our Odalan performance:

Dancing is lots of fun but for me its not as fun as gamelan!!! Gamelan is an instrument from Bali. It's easy to play and it only has 4 notes!! I think thatÕs why itÕs easy.

. Here are some pictures of us working with Pak Sumandi on the Dance of the Ramayana. The dance is called the Kecak.
