U.S Navy Marine Mammal Program

Have you ever heard of the U.S Navy Marine Mammal Program?  Well I know everyone is familiar with patrol or police dogs like… German Shepard’s, and beagle’s detecting drugs and bombs, but have you heard of dolphins, beluga whales, killer whales, California sea lions, and other kinds of marine mammals detecting bombs on boats.  Probably not.  I just learned about this last year, but luckily it’s pretty easy to learn.  It’s pretty much Navy people and marine mammal trainers teaching marine animal to go down deep with Navy scuba divers and search for bombs.  But get this.  The animals are trained to find the bombs and with special gear they are able to disconnect the bombs.  I thought this topic was really cool.  To find this website go to Goggle and type in "U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Program" and chose the one that’s exactly the same!
