2007 Alumni Night -December 18, 2007

We had Alumni representing High Tech Media Arts Middle, Roosevelt, Muirlands, and San Diego Cooperative. Einstein, CPMA Creative Performing Media Arts.

Autumn said that the teachers comment on the Museum School student and how well prepared for middle school in terms of interaction and presenting they are.  Alden thought that the Museum School should give more homework to prepare students for the homework load in middle school.

At HTMA, Luna said that the transition was easy from the Museum School.  Project based learning and students move from class to class.  They take 100 students for 6th grade 7th grade depends on how many people leave.  Once you are in the HTH program you automatically move into the high school.

Rabraya is at CPMA.  The school prepares you for moving into something like SCPA.  Starts at 7:30 and ends at 2:00.  Don't have to audition for the middle school, but you have to audition into the SCPA.  It is a magnet school.  There are dance, drama and music classes, in a block program.  Classes can be about 15 students to 30 students.  Teachers stay after school for dance or drama.  They also have a 6 to 6 program.

Students suggested to apply to several schools so that you might have some choices all the schools have a different application process.  SCPA has an audition process, in some on the high school; students need to present a portfolio.  Transitioning to Junior high, students might fine that homework can be a bit overwhelming.  There are dress codes at the different schools.
