Dear Parents,
As you are probably aware, our schools are suffering from major state and district budget constraints. The Museum School is no exception. We are also implementing a manipulative based math program called Everyday Math. We hope that you will support our efforts in providing the best education we can to our students, by helping us in procuring these items below and sending them to school with your child on the first day back--September 12th.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Items:
1 Plastic toolbox or tub that fits in the desk (no more than 4 inches tall) labeled with student's name, which will house their math tools
1 TI -15 Calculator (does fractions and shows work--check on line for the best price)
1 Compass (Helix recommended)
1 Retractable tape measure
1 Ruler with inches and centimeter
1 Deck of cards that may be relabeled for math games or an EveryDay Math card deck
2 retractable lead pencils (plastic is okay)
1 Personal pencil sharpener with shaving holder
1 box of colored pencils
1 pair of scissors
1 set of water-base color markers
1 notebook binder
1 box of crayons
4 Composition books (sewn -in binding, not spiral bound)
1 USB jumpdrive (64 MB minimum)
These items will be collected for the community pool:
5 report folders 1 bottle of school white glue
2 reams of white copier paper 2 reams of 3-hole punched college-ruled paper
1 package of colored construction paper 1 package of #2pencils
1 box of tissue paper 1 roll of paper towel
1 box of ballpoint pens (any color-esp red and blue)
Other supplies that would be greatly appreciated:
Meter and yard sticks String
Plasticware (forks spoons) Paper plates
Napkins paper cups
Antibacterial hand sanitizer
(We understand that this is a substantial list. Whatever items you can gather will be most greatly appreciated. If your are able to sponsor another student in need, any extra materials would also be appreciated.)
