Museum School Site Council Minutes

November 9, 2004

    Discussion: Over $2000.00 of donated prizes. There will be big prizes, Holland Cruise, Golfing packages, silent auction, food served, cake walk, Games for the kids, wine and beer. Musical performances, presentation of the kid’s work. Gamelan performance, afro-cuban group. Bill and Rich will be MC ing the event. MC should get there at 5:30 auction off open mike nite as well.

    Volunteers for the slave auction: Branan will do a private ceramic class. James will do an art party for 5-10 kids. Krista and Janet will do a "smart choices" activity.

    Will add Pledge period for cash donations.

    Food will be from 6:00-8:00. vegetarian lasagna, pasta salad, green salad, and pizza, cake.

    Yvonne will chase money. Jane will take credit card. Kent will do sound, and bring a tent.

    Meeting tomorrow from 5:00 to 6:00 for volunteers to organize baskets, etc.

    Need extention cords, lights, tents. Need cake for cake walk. Will send out one more quicknote to request..

    Will post auction opportunities to create a little more excitement for the event.

     

  3. Gold C Update

Thanks to Lupe Diaz, Dessa Wright, and everyone who sold books, we raised $1045.50!

3. District Accountability Framework
Phil gave
overview of the agreement and accountability process for all schools in San Diego City School District.
Signatures necessary

Action: Mindy moved, Paula second Motion: to accept District’s Accountability Framework and sign it. Motion passed.


4.Charter Renewal — December 14

5. Museum School Governing Board

The Museum School governance is site-based and follows a consensus model. Operation and fiscal accountability of the school will be monitored and guided by a formal governing board. This board will consist of the Children’s Museum’s executive director, one parent (elected by the School Site Council), the school Teacher/Director, and 2 teachers (chosen informally by the teachers). Parent and teacher representatives shall serve for a one-year term. The governing board will meet at least quarterly, and minutes will be kept for each meeting.

Vote to choose parent member(s) for Museum School Governing Board

Lois nominted to governing board. Group voted to approve.
