us., Highlight some of the diversity of our site in our presenters. Short

- Museum / School Partnerships
-School Fundraising
-Museum Capital Campaign
Museum has agreement with CCDC that Museum needs to raise the money for the
new Museum by May 2005 or CCDC can buy the property back for $1.00. Museum
still needs to raise $5 1/2 million. Soon after the Museum started the fundraising
campaign, 9/11 happened, the US went to war, and San Diego had its worst fire
season. It was very difficult in those circumstances to raise funds.
Museum has some irons in the fire- tobacco money focused for 0-5, first fivepreschool
program money, Qualcomm grant. City Council is the board for CCDC. Zuckett
is the board member for the area.
Museum is trying to grow the board.
- Long Term School Plans
-Structure staffing, student numbers
-Position in Community Demonstration model
-Outreach, recruiting
-We are fundsraising just to cover basics.
Questions:
Would another museum like to house the school if something happens Museum?
When would we start to look towards that avenue?
If Museum looses the property, Museum will open somewhere else and will move
the school with them.
Museum would like to get better benefits package for its employees which would
entice better staff and retain them. Charter teachers and staff might be able
to also participate.
