  3. Discussion of groundrules
    —this group’s job is to fundraise, not be a forum for disagreements or program changes, personality agendas, etc. Will be a total supportive organization. Raising the funds, but no input for how to direct the funds.

    - to use for Parent Site Council Meetings
    — for fundraising
    — any other occasion when swift communication is needed

  6. The Children’s Museum’s Steering Committee liaison-report (Sandra Pollack)
    - to use for Parent Site Council Meetings

    Discussion-Will keep in touch with Children’s Museum so that there is not duplication of efforts or that we are reaching out to same groups that Children’s Museum is trying to get.

  8. Fundraising
    —Centralize fundraising efforts-avoiding fundraising inefficiency and fundraising cannibalism
    —Coordinate families donations ($400.00 or 40 hours annually) See form
    —Letter to new parents (pass around)
    —Organize major fundraisers — Phil & group discussion
    —Yearbook ad sales (coordinate with Gerri Halling)
    —Business partnerships/ Corporate fundraising packet/donor’s list/united way/register/press kits/e-script

    Discussion of the "foundation"
    We would raise funds to make up the $30,000.00 deficit and then wish-list
    —Renaming "Friends of the Museum School", since it its not a separate foundations

    —Question what do we need to raise? $30,000.00 by end of the school year. What do we want to raise? $100,000.00

  9. Recruiting New Students

    Discussion
    —Ana has been attending the recruitment meetings asking new potential parents to consider donating 40 hours volunteer time, or $400.00 a year.
    —Phil reminded the committee that as a public school we cannot "require" $ for enrollment.
    —We want to let those people who can help us know that we do need their help.
    —We need more 3rd graders. Only 10 applicants

  10. Assistance in and around the school

    -Breakfast Club --Jane will interface/coordinate in the morning.
    —Parent drop off & safety issues
    —check mailboxes for information

  11. Set up a timeline to accomplish all the above

  12. Set up next meeting time & agenda
    —Weekly until we are functioning
    —Presentation at the next Site Council meeting to make invitation and sign up Wamu, E-script, Target, etc.

    Brainstorm of ideas:
    -What do our parents do? Making a list to frequent our business to support the school
    —Holding CPR classes to raise funds
    — License plates, T-shirts, etc.
